Friends

1) Fair-weather friend èرفيق نيمه راه

 Someone who is your friend only when things are going well for you.

e.g.: I really thought she would be have to help me, but she is just a fair-weather friend.

2) Pen-friend èدوست مکاتبه ای

A person that you make friends with/by writing letters, often somebody you have never met.

e.g.: In your first letter to a pen-friend you will want to give a lively picture of yourself, the main points about yourself and your life which can be elaborated on.

3) False-friend è دوست کاذب، نارفيق

a) A person who seems to be your friend but who is not loyal and cannot be trusted.

e.g.: I can not rely on Mina as a reliable friend because she is a false-friend.

b) A word in a foreign language that looks similar to a word in your own language, but has a different meaning.

e.g.: The English word ‘sensible’ and the French word ‘sensible’ are false-friends. 

4) Bosom friend è دوست صميمی، همدم

A friend that you know very well and like very much indeed.

e.g.: I really like Marry. She is my bosom friend.

5) School friend èدوست دوران مدرسه

A friend who attends or attended the same school as you.

One who has ability and disposition to help another by his influence in high quarter.

Somebody who’s your friend for a long time.

e.g.: Sarah has been my friend since I was 10. She’s my long-term friend.

 e.g.: I had broken my friend relationship for at least 5 years, but I decided to make friend again with her.

10) Have friends in high places è پارتی داشتن

1. proclaim! (or read!) In the name of Thy Lord and Cherisher, who created-

17. then, let Him call (for help) to His council (of comrades):

18. we will call on the angels of punishment (to Deal with Him)!

19. Nay, heed Him not: but bow down In adoration, and bring Thyself the closer (to Allah.!

بخوان به نام پروردگارت كه (جهان را) آفريد، (1)

همانندهايي كس كه انسان را از خون بسته‏اي خلق كرد! (2)

بخوان كه پروردگارت (از همواره، بزرگواري است؛) (3)

همانندهايي كسي كه بوسيله قلم تعليم نمود، (4)

و به انسان آن‌كه‏ذليل را نمي‏داند، ياد داد! (5)

ؿنين نيست (كه شما مي‏ورزند; به يقين انسان طغيان مي‏كرد)! (6)

از اين، خود را بياورند; ببيند! (7)

و به يقين بازگشت (همه) به سويشان پروردگار تو است! (8)

به من خبر ده آيا كسي كه نهيم مي‏كرد)! (9)

بنده‏اي را به هنگامي كه نماز مي‏بينم (آيا مستحق عذاب الهي نيست)؟! (10)

به من خبر ده اگر اين بنده به راه هدايت باشد، (11)

يا مردم را به تقوا فرمان دهد (آيا نهيم كردن او سزاوارترند; است)؟! (12)

به من خبر ده اگر (اين طغيانشان حق را انكار كند و به آن پشت نمايد (آيا مستحق مجازات الهي نيست)؟! (13)

آيا او ندانست كه خداوند (همه اعمالم را) مي‏انديشند; (14)

ؿنان نيست كه او خيال مي‏كرد)! اگر دست از كار خود برندارد، ناصيه‏اش (موي پيشاپيش سرعت را گرفته (و به سويشان عذاب مي‏طلبد، (15)

همانندهايي ناصيه دروغگويان خطاكار را! (16)

سپيده هر كه را مي‏ترسم صدا بزند (تا ياريش كند)! (17)

ما هم بزودي ماموران دوزخ را صدا مي‏رساند، (تا او را به دوزخ افكنند)! (18)

ؿنان نيست (كه آن طغيان،) مي‏نگرد! هرگز او را اطاعت مكن، و سجده‏كنندگان نما و (به خدا) تقرب جوي! (19)
